I also have learned about Database Management System (DBMS). It is a software tool to manage incoming data, organize it, and provide ways for the data to be modified or extracted by users.
The DBMS performs the following five primary functions:
- Define, create and organize a database
- Input data
- Process data
- Maintain data integrity and security
- Query database
In addition, i have known some examples of database, such as: Microsoft Access, Oracle, IBM DB2, SQL Server, MySQL,...
On the other hand, I have learned about Database system.The DBMS software together with the Database is called a database system. It can be defined as an organization of components that define and regulate the collection, storage, management and use of data in a database. It is a system whose overall purpose is to record and maintain information.
According to what I have known, there are 4 types of Database Model:
- Hierarchical database
- Network database
- Relational database
- Object-relational database
